Seeing the ten-foot “I AM A MAN” statue in Memphis shocked me into the realization that the Black sanitation workers had to say this because they were not being accepted as full-bodied men. The National Memorial for Peace and Justice has hanging 800 blocks of steel (with multiple names) from each county that lynched black people-men, women and children!! This trip changed how I view our history and how many of the justice issues remain today for our fellow Black Americans."
